Personal Trainer Marketing Tip of The Week - 3 Things Every Kick Butt Website Has…

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Creating a top notch website can be overwhelming. Trust me I know. I have a flow chart that has about 50 individual concepts that I look for when creating a website. I realize that it is impossible for most people to grasp so many things so I wanted to simplify it a little. Here are three things your personal training website must have if you want to compete in this game..

1. Ridiculously Simple Navigation - put your site to the 10 second test. Ask a friend to find something on your site like your rates, or studio location, if they can not find it within 10 seconds, you need to redo your navigation. Keep it simple and very obvious.

2. WTSA Headline - (What’s This Site About) The headline on your home page should tell the visitor exactly what your website is about. Don’t try to be cute, just tell them, and use benefits in your copy.

3. Call to Action - Bottom line, tell them what you want them to do. If you want them to call you, tell them to call you and give them a damn good reason why they should.

As I said before there are at least 40 something more elements that every kick butt personal training website should have but those 3 are probably the most important when it comes to turning visitors into clients.

Have a look at your website right now, if you would like more tips like this please leave me a comment and I will be glad to help…

Thanks!

The Reason Why People Leave Your Website…

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

This lil’ bit of info is so valuable. Do you know why your website visitors leave your site without contacting you or without buying something? Was it your sales copy, did they not find what they were looking for, were your prices too expensive?

I know, I know… how the heck are you supposed to find that out if they don’t contact you at all. It is simple and takes very little work. One way to do this is to use what is called a pop under or exit pop. No, not a pop up, they are more likely to get blocked.

In simple terms, when they close your site a page can appear and it should say something like…

Going so soon? Did you not find what you are looking for? Please tell us why so we can make this website even better.
No name or email required.

You can also encourage them by giving them a free gift, like a special report.

Why does this help you? Most people will be honest, if you get a lot of people saying “im not sure your programs are for me” you should do a better job of telling people what they can expect with your program. You will get all sorts of great info using this strategy.

It is also like having dozens of people acting as your webmaster, they will tell you if a link is dead or a picture won’t load, etc.

Get started on this as soon as you can.
